La historia detrás de Se Te Antoja MX
Between food, travel, and giant screens: The story behind Se Te Antoja MX
Intro
There are couples who connect by chance. Others, by destiny.
And then there are those who connect because neither could stand still and repeat the same restaurant twice.
That’s how the story of Sophie and Thor began, the couple behind Se Te Antoja MX, who turned their dates, adventures, and obsession with discovering new places into a community that today inspires thousands of people to go out, taste, travel, and create memories together.
Between strange food, impromptu trips, marriage proposals in Times Square, and snowy mountains, Sophie and Thor remind us that the best relationships aren't just built on love… but also on curiosity, laughter, and the desire to say yes to life.

The Interview
1. We all love a good love story. How did you meet?
We had friends in common, so we bumped into each other several times, but we were both in relationships and didn’t really connect much at that moment.
A few months passed and we met again, this time single. The conversation flowed so easily that we immediately became friends and started doing activities together. Over time, feelings emerged and our outings turned into dates.
After a few months, Thor asked Sophie to be his girlfriend at a festival where you wrote a wish on a floating lantern and released it into a lake. It was a super romantic and unique moment.
2. What do you admire about each other that you feel is hard to find in another partner?
That we have managed to balance a romantic relationship with a business without it turning into a constant conflict.
We know that for many couples, working together can be complicated, and of course it has its challenges, but for us, it has happened very naturally. We work a lot, but without neglecting our relationship.
3. How was the idea of creating a project together born?
It all started as a hobby.
Every date had a rule: we couldn't repeat a place. It always had to be something different: a new restaurant, a different experience, a museum, a trip… whatever it was.
Sophie started receiving a lot of messages asking for recommendations, and a friend told us:
“Why don’t you share it on social media?”
We took it seriously… and the rest is history.
4. Why food? Why share recommendations with the world?
Because going out to eat is our favorite activity.
Sophie is very picky with food, while Thor is the complete opposite: he always wants to try the weirdest thing on the menu. We balance each other out perfectly.
5. What do you think makes you unique as a couple?
We always make each other laugh.
We can be super silly and fun, but when it comes to work, we are also very professional. We support each other a lot and provide stability.
Besides, we have great communication and emotional maturity, which makes us able to resolve disagreements easily.
6. What is the best experience you have had together?
In 2023 we traveled to New York and one night we went to Times Square with a friend.
Suddenly, Thor asked me to look at a giant screen. My name was there. I thought it was just an ad, but a video started playing with clips of us together.
When I turned to look at him… he was down on one knee proposing.
7. What has been the funniest or most unexpected situation that helped you get to know each other better?
We moved in together after a year and a half of dating. For many, that’s fast, and we understand that.
But before that, we had traveled to Norway —where part of Thor’s family is from— and we stayed there for two months. That experience was practically a trial run of living together.
Real advice: travel with your partner. If you survive the trip and are still in love… that’s a good sign 😂
8. If you had to define your relationship in three words…
Spontaneous. Honest. Team.
9. What has been your biggest challenge and your biggest achievement as a couple?
Our biggest challenge was leaving the comfort of living with our parents to start a life together. We wanted to make sure we grew and improved our quality of life.
And for that very reason, we feel that our greatest achievement has been having built that life together.
10. As a young couple, how do you manage to combine your dreams to grow together?
It’s all about having a similar vision for the future.
That conversation is essential from the beginning. Dreams don’t have to be exactly the same, but the direction must match.
And, above all, support each other no matter what.
11. What advice would you give to couples who want to start a business together?
Believe in your idea.
Don't invest money you aren't willing to lose, be constant, disciplined, and define very well who does what.
Learn about business, understand that there will be sacrifices, and, above all, know how to separate work from sentiment.
12. If you didn't do this… would you still work together?
Most likely, yes.
We trust each other a lot and both have a workaholic soul. If it wasn't this project, we would surely be chasing another idea together.
In fact, we have plans to launch more projects related to food and marketing.
13. What has been your funniest or most memorable date?
We’ve done it all: skydiving, camping, hot air balloons…
But one of our favorites was hiking up a snowy mountain. We were suffering and barely speaking from exhaustion, but when we reached the summit, it was all worth it.
It was one of our first adventures and we feel it brought us much closer together.
14. Complete the sentence: “Why not…?”
Why not share our fears, our dreams, our past, and our future? You bring the chocolate and I’ll bring the wine.
